AABF ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL BENEFITS WILL RESULT FROM AN EXPANDING AFRICAN AMERICAN ECONOMY. THESE ADVANTAGES WILL IMPACT THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY AS WELL AS THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATE AND SELECTED GEOGRAPHIC AREAS OF THE WORLD. INCREASED TRADE AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER SHOULD OCCUR BETWEEN THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND THE AFRICAN AND CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES. AN EXPANDED AFRICAN-AMERICAN ECONOMY SHOULD PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS:
I. IMPROVED PURCHASING POWER FOR AFRICAN AMERICANS RESULTING IN A HIGHER STANDARD OF LIVING.
II. REDUCED INVOLVEMENT IN GOVERNMENT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS.
III. IMPROVED U.S. ECONOMY.
IV. REDUCED CRIME AND OTHER SOCIAL PROBLEMS.
V. IMPROVED HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE.
VI. BETTER JOBS AND LESS UNEMPLOYMENT RESULTING IN IMPROVED SELF-ESTEEM.
FOR THESE REASONS, THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN ECONOMY SHOULD BE THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY OF THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND THE UNITED STATES.
